Home Voodoo

Home Voodoo – Two words I have been considering in regard to an upcoming show, led me to these two. Gardeners. And the above, Baum Fest, or Tree Celebration.

Garden as a metaphor for society and its many polarities: the good and the bad, the local and foreign, rot and sprout, the fragile and the resilient. Garten – below – Colourful plastic buckets of soil in the Museum forecourt, the planting of the garden is left to the wind or the birds or the seeds already existing in the earth.

A note on the title box appearing in the top picture. What is this html voodoo? I like it. Type into it, see what happens. But again, without the box. Baum Fest.

Bargello

Erica Wilson says Bargello stitch, though I think I know it as florentine stitch. Either way I love it, repetitive gradient patterns are good for me. I enjoyed this video for other reasons as well. Via Cathy of California.

Marble

Marbled paper. Forever.

Endpaper of a book manually bound in France with handcrafted marbled paper. The book is an edition of Horace’ poems (Ĺ’uvres d’Horace), Paris 1735. Endpapers.

Marble & Wood

Wood Book and Marble Book by Tauba Auerbach. 2011
Digital offset printing, mohawk superfine paper, 55 pages, hand painted edges.

An elegant website, and so much beautiful work, though these are my favourites – along with the Auerglass – as they are perfect.
